• Can I use Optum Perks discounts even if I have insurance?

  Yes, but Optum Perks cannot be combined with insurance. The majority of the time, insurance has lower drug costs. The cost of medication is usually cheaper with a prescription insurance plan because populations of insured people are different, and therefore, have different mixes of the medication within their population. Sometimes a prescription discount card is able to offer a better price through negotiation. With both of these options available, you can choose which is right for you.
• Can I use Optum Perks with Medicare coverage?

  If you have a Medicare Part D plan, you can still use Optum Perks. However, drugs purchased with this discount will not count toward your Medicare deductible and therefore not allow you to exceed your deductible and get out of the "donut hole." Not all plans are the same. Contact your plan administrator for details.
• Will the money I spend using Optum Perks count towards my deductible?

  No, any money spent when using an Optum Perks discount card or coupon will not count towards your deductible.
• Can I use my Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for my prescriptions when using an Optum Perks coupon or discount card?

  Yes. If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) you can use the funds from your HSA to pay for prescriptions and use an Optum Perks coupon or discount card to lower the price.
